Senate Set to Vote on Another Anti-gun Judge

Here we go again.

First, there was Sonia Sotomayor. Then there was David Hamilton.

Now, we have another radical, anti-gun judge that has been nominated
for the federal judiciary. His name is Louis Butler, and he is so
radical, he was twice rejected by the people of Wisconsin (which is, by
the way, one of the most liberal states in our union).

When Louis Butler first ran for the Wisconsin Supreme Court -- the
voters rejected him by a 2-1 margin. When he was appointed to that
court by Democrat Governor Jim Doyle and then stood for retention by
the voters, they again rejected him. This was the first time a member
of the Wisconsin Supreme Court was rejected by the voters in more than
40 years.

More importantly, Louis Butler opposes the rights of gun owners. The
right to bear arms in the Wisconsin Constitution expressly notes that
this right is for personal security and "any other lawful purpose." But
in State v. Fischer, Judge Butler was the deciding vote in 2006 to hold
that a Wisconsin statute barring carrying a concealed weapon for any
purpose, at any time, including in a vehicle, does not violate this
right to personal security that the voters of Wisconsin chose to
expressly protect in their state constitution.

So he ignored the state constitution in order to impose his anti-gun views on the people of Wisconsin.

After the landmark U.S. Supreme Court Heller case upholding Second
Amendment gun rights in 2008, Louis Butler spoke at an Obama for
President fundraiser and specifically mentioned "gun control" as an
issue that potential Obama appointees would impact.

"Gun control," Butler said, "may ultimately be decided, and the new
appointees can tip the very balance of the court. [The] background,
personal beliefs and policy decisions of the justices selected will
influence how they will vote on the difficult cases before them."

There you have it. He is a radical activist who wants to move the
courts -- and our country -- in a new direction. We've already had
enough "hope and change" for a lifetime. We don't need another federal
judge who will use his radical "personal beliefs" to reshape our
society.

ACTION: Please contact your U.S. Senators and urge them to
OPPOSE the nomination of Judge Louis Butler as U.S. District Judge for
the Western District of Wisconsin. Butler was approved by the Senate
Judiciary Committee last week, and could now be voted on by the full
Senate at any time.

Please OPPOSE the nomination of Louis Butler as U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Wisconsin.

Just another brick in the wall, Dave.

When entire cities can ignore the SCOTUS is it too far of a stretch to say that citizens can ignore judges also?

If washington D.C can ignore the rulings of the supreme court then I'm pretty sure I can ignore a judge.

when men of power take away the natural rights of self defense, given by God, then we can either live under that tyranny or we can remove those men or women. Since a working man has no way to do that, as in this case, we have few choices. we can either remove those people by force or we can ignore them until such a time as that is no longer possible.
Since I don't want to kill anyone, I think I'll ignore them unless they come calling..then I'll do my best to shoot the bastards into the ground, and should I win free of that? I'll go hunting the man that sent his proxies to take my freedom.
There comes a time when acts such as this..such as an elected official ignoring the will of the people, should be called by it's rightful name.

Tyranny.

I like were they ask you to contact your U.S. Senators and urge them to
OPPOSE the nomination of Judge Louis Butler as U.S. District Judge. Like that does any good. Did contacting your U.S. Senators do any good with Sonia Sotomayor?

No it didn't. There was too much Democratic support. No matter, I still think that we should still contact them. That is our responsibility and what does it cost? It took me 2 minutes to do this and cost nothing out of pocket. For the last 60-80 years that has been the problem. Citizens believed that our elected officials in DC were there for our benefit and didn't take the time to write or call so these power mongers continued to do all they could to become as powerful as they could while the people slept thru it and now they are out of control. Now people just don't take the time because it doesn't seem to do any good. If that's what people think that's OK with me but as long as I can I'm going to try to do what I can.
It's a personal choice and I'm not saying that I'm any better because I choose to do this and I'm not condemning anyone who doesn't. I'm simply stating my opinion and why I choose to contact them.

Im not knocking your methods Volz, to each their own....To anwser you questions..."if" it was going to work then we wouldn't even be having this conversation. If it worked and people listened we wouldn't be on the brink of socialisim. If it worked we wouldn't have paid millions to a Union riddled auto industry so some P.O.S. could keep his job screwing in a bolt for 30 dollars an hour. If it worked gun control would be a non-issue by now....See where Im going with this?

I'm not talking about things in the past. I wouldn't waste anyone's time by going back and saying "What If". If that did any good I would go back and "What If' my Vols into a few more Championships.
I'm spending time in prayer over this whole situation and I will keep my hopes up that there will be a miracle occur, which is what it is going to take to fix this without a massive loss of life. Whose to say that there won't be a miracle happen and enough Senators and Reps. wake up one morning and suddenly realize that they have been driving our country in the ground and they need to change their wicked ways!
Is that what will happen? Who knows? I sure hope so and until the shooting begins this will be my approach.
