aaaand HERE we go...
It's story time...
It all started last 4th of July, when some old army buddies came to visit. Of COURSE we had to visit the range and drag out the rifles and pistols.
Naturally, One of my buddies really liked my Ishapore Enfield .308 (pictured below) because it's a great shooter.

That being said, he convinced me to allow him to take it home because he doesn't have a rifle and wanted to practice. So being the best friend that I've always been (20+ years of knowing him) I sent it home with him with the caveat that if he buys another rifle, mine comes back to me.
The problem: he likes my Enfield so much he wants to buy it. Folks I RARELY sell a rifle that I like even to friends...even to best friends. I like that rifle. it's accurate and in the caliber I like and it was cheep.
While we were cruising through gunbroker.com, he ran across THIS rifle.

Picture that jungle carbine, completely parkerized with a synthetic stock. spiffy huh?
problem is that you can't find jungle carbines anymore..they got snapped up like a bleeding fish at a bullshark feeding frenzy when they made it here to the US.
Solution...buy a regular ishapore enfield (found one for 125 bucks...bore is great, gauges out at a 1 or better)
take it down to bare metal, slap some gunkote on it and install a flash hider and synthetic stock. Now I can do this for considerably less than the 450.00 that the guy wants for his jungle carbine...even if I shortened and recrowned the barrel and then installed a flash hider.
this,of course, was my idea..I related this to my buddy and said "if you buy the rifle and parts, I'll make you a jungle carbine.
he said "you build it and THEN I'll buy it from you.
sometimes, I get myself in so much crap....
