Romanian AK-47

Post by GlockNut on Sun 15 Nov - 15:09

OK heres the deal I'm thinking about getting a Romanian AK-47. I don't kn ow I think about them is the Romanian AK-47 a good one or not. I was told that some of the AK47 were junk. And what do these usually sell for before the Obama scare.

Romanians are one of the cheapest AK on the market but that being said mine has never given a moments trouble. Very fun and will eat any ammo you put through it.

Been looking at getting an AK as well and have been checking out Classic Arms and Aim and JG Sales.
I think Classic has some pretty good deals going now.

The AK 47 has a reputation for being ultra reliable and feeds and fires despite some of the worst possible abuse and neglect that would lock an AR 15 up in a hurry. But that reliablity comes at the cost of accuracy. Especially with cheap surplus ammo. But you can throw a whole bunch of it downrange quick.

Eugene Stoner built what has finally found its niche as a varmint/target class rifle while Kalishnikov built a battle rifle. The AR was often too finicky for combat where the AK47 shines, but the AK47 will never be in my arsenal of coyote rifles. It all depends on your purpose and what you want and need from it.

I paid 349.00 for my rommy a few years ago with plastic furniture. From classic, just make sure its not one that has had the mag well cut to take the larger mags. I would buy from classic again, great people. mine has been flawless.

I got my Ak last week fron ClassicArms it is a Romanian .
Took it to the range and it shot high and to the right on the
50 yd range for thye first time out.
Last night I found my site adjustment tool and did a tweek
of the front sight and shot it today and put all 30 rds in a
4inch circle on a dirty bird target with the iron sites.
man that made my day. I love my AK.
Cant wait till I get my quick disconnect scope mt. then
we will see what it does at a 100 or more yds.

I'll stick with my Garand...that way I only have to shoot them once at around 650 yards.

Make sure you wear gloves with that AK , they get HOT when you burn thru a mag.

The Drags can even mount a drum , but the usual set up in a 5 rd mag , it is a sniper rifle. My comment was about the 47. Those Drags are damn accurate , even with that weenie scope they come with . I would love to have one.
