They are just getting us accustomed too.....

Post by brickmanDan on Mon 2 Nov - 22:49

Government control of everything.

Why is it that the only source for H1N1 vaccine is the government?

A privately owned clinic (HORRORS!) in Farmers Branch, Texas, managed to order and receive many thousands of doses, and administered them to patients who walked in and paid, without regard for the patient's being part of a certain demographic group.

Imagine that! A private clinic buys the vaccine, and re-sells it to private patients who actually PAY for it. It was a scandal!

So, the government produces/acquires the vaccine. The government decides who shall and more importantly, who shall not, receive the vaccine. The government administers the vaccine through controlled and limited access points.

Can't you see this same scenario being used in response to some other "crisis" and some other commodity?

Just wait and watch.

Can I see the government acquiring all of a precious resource and determining how it's used? Military/LEO's... fuel... ammo... MRE's...

Well, sure... and I know you're not struggling with this, either.

I can even see them giving extra rations of food to the populace for turning in guns... or those who own them...

There's not much I would put past any of the rat bastiges... and if not today, the way things are going, tomorrow at the latest...

Agreed, but I also see them requiring some sort of "mark" in the hand or forehead to buy, sell or trade eventually. RFID ring a bell?

I guess what gets me, is that as an excuse for not having enough shots, they are now saying "well, anyone born before 1957 has most likely been exposed, and has little need anyway"....OK, if thats the case, WTF did they not consider that in the first place, instead of warning everyone that death was waiting unless everyone ran down and got the stupid shot?

Don't get me wrong, I'm on the other side of this. For me, it's a reverse quid pro quo. They give me a shot I don't want, and I give them a shot or several they don't want in return. That being said, however, I will answer your question thusly, ronryder:

Because it's the government and most everything they do is a fustercluck.

Because if you're old and would die of the flu, it doesn't matter cause you're already a useless eater now and less for the Death Panels to deal with when Ocare passes later.

Because if they can convince as many as possible to want it, the less likely forced vaccinations and/or forced isolations will be necessary (they think, i'm guessin).

Because we are a socialist government now, and donating 10% of our vaccine (once we have received a scant 16% of the supply for our citizens) to underdeveloped countries is the right socialist thing to do, despite the fact that demand outstrips supply for our citizens, who have paid for not only our own citizens shots, but for the 'social justice' side of the global equation, too:

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told CNSNews.com Wednesday that one in 10 doses of the swine-flu vaccine purchased by the U.S. will be donated to other nations before the U.S. demand for the vaccine is filled.

Sebelius also told a Senate committee that vaccine production is well behind demand.

“What we said is once we have 40 million doses (of the vaccine), the donation can start,” Sebelius told CNSNews.com. “There’s an agreement (of) 10 percent donation that 11 nations have made,” she said.

HHS has ordered about 250 million doses of the vaccine, so the donation would begin after the U.S. received just 16 percent of its original order.
Referring to the production delay for the vaccine, Sebelius told CNSNews.com: “We had hoped that that would be a little earlier, but we are working with these 11 nations through the World Health Organization (WHO) to help get the vaccines to countries particularly who can't purchase them. I mean, that’s really the issue is the countries who don’t have the wherewithal to purchase vaccines. We need to make available some of the vaccine that is available to the developed nations.”

When CNSNews.com tried to clarify whether the donation would happen once the delay in production was over and all of the U.S. demand had been met, Sebelius said that was not the case.

“Well, no," she said. "Forty million doses was the initial benchmark and so once that is in this country, then 10 percent of the (doses are donated), and we’ll make up the rest. That’s what the other nations are doing too--England, New Zealand, and Australia and Germany and Spain are all participating in this kind of global effort.”

In other words, once more, the federal government has bitten off more than it can chew, so the American taxpayer continues to stands in line, having assumed 'the' position a while back. Everybody's alligator mouth overloaded their hummingbird butts right on down the line regarding vaccine production. And the government's agreement was that we'd only receive less than 1 in 5 doses of the vaccine before we'd start giving it away.

Because they are the government, and we are not.

Because the WHO - the medical arm of the UN, is already running the show.

Because..... because.... ok, I think I've made my point.

OK, now here's my take on this flu vaccine thing. Screw them, I'll take my chances with my own healthcare, thanks. I've done the research both on the virus and vaccine itself, on Baxter and its "connections", and other ancillary issues such as the politics.

I say again: screw them, I'll take my chances with my own healthcare.
