It's good to know that we're still a bastion of freedom, even as battered as our country is.
It WILL get better though. Folks will put it right before long and we'll have more freedom, less taxes and more opportunities.

I've been to quite a few countries and I've found that there are those that plod along under the boots of their masters..and those that chafe against the chains of their servitude. The political unrest you see in our country today is just that very thing...Free men and women, speaking out and letting our government know that their britches aren't to big to be tanned.

originally born what was know back then as Russia, but now due to Independance is officially Ukraine since i was born in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine,

and because we were Jewish, my family had to flee that country due to a very heavy Antisemitism,
and basically we were being the blame for the entire WWII,
how ignorant is that, but its very sad and true there...
and people there really take it to extremes even today and many good folks suffer at the hand of white supremacy plus the poor economy.

came here in 79, and am very thankful that my parents did what they did by coming here and giving me the chance to grow up in Freedom.

I will be perfectly honest and say that I have been guilty of antisemitism. I remember that day and that instant when I realized how big an xxxxxxx I was. It's burned indelibly into my memory. Even if it was an offhand joke, I witnessed the hurt in a little girl's eyes because of it. From that day forward I vowed to educate myself on other cultures and religions and to, as my brother once told me, "never miss a golden opportunity to STFU".
Sometimes it takes a hammer..sometimes a soft word, for illumination to bloom like a flower, in the mind of an idiot.

well to be honest and speaking out of personal experience that is how it usually starts and so then it eventually erupts...

it usually begins with a few jokes, then secret meetings of those who hate another, than there are public meetings, then there are rallys, and eventually even riots to rid the country of one kind that they hate or blame for something, and ofcourse there are the beatings, and the burning down of the homes and the holy places of warships and not being allowed to eat at certain places or be able to attend certain events and even cannot ride the bus or a taxi, and then there are killings too since the hatred is so extreme and allowed by the government...

this all clearly happened in Russia after the war and got out of control in the early 60s and into the late 70s,
and unfortunately also here in the United States it took place a long time ago and into the 50s, if i am correct though here it was not to the Jews but rather to a different color of skin on a human being, as they were consdered not the same.

but not the same as what, or whom, and why ?

just a quick little personal story,...

i was only 7 years old and was on my way home from school, this was back in 1977 in Russia,
and was surrounded by a gang of about 8 or so teenagers who all started calling me Jew names, and a Jewsih pig, and that i didnt belong there, but then where did i belong i had asked ?
so then was pushed around, slapped around, and the next step was me laying on the ground and all 8 of them kicking me with their feet like i was some animal or a piece of wood,
and were beating me to the point where i could not do a thing nor was i able to scream or run, at that point i was just an almost lifeless body laying there as they kicked away and would have eventually killed me...
but a few old ladies ran up, started screaming and throwing their purses around, and broke it up, and brought me home to my parents, well only mom was home at the time.
as i layed there at home all covered in blood and as my mom washed me down from the blood on my face and body and the dirt that was all over me,
i asked her if i really was a "Jewish Pig" ???
since i didnt even know what being Jewish was and had no idea about the different religions that one can be,
and she replied with tears in her eyes "no son youre not a jewish pig" and "please dont ever tell anyone that youre jewish again or they may happen to you again"...

and while i still did not know what it meant to be a Jew i went back to school and all was then fine and my wounds healed, but i never forgot,

ofcourse my older cousin who was in his early 20s and his gang of boys a few days later caught those very same teenagers and gave them a whooping like they did to me and really set them straight, though ofcourse that never changed their views and instead probably made them ever more angry at the Jew...

so then thats how it was back there and thats the reasons we fled so called Mother Russia,

and came here in 79 to the land of the Free, and to this day i will never forget that day and what it meant to be a Jew within a society that hated them and blamed them for the entire WWII since it was the jews who were responsible and were at fault,
well someone had to be blamed, not the Nazis ofcourse...

many millions of Eastern European Jews fled Russia and Europe after WWII which remained and survived the Ovens and the Torture of what Nazi Germany did to them in the early and late 1940s, Hitler did manage to kill off 6 million Jews and many others who were either Gay or Artists or Lawyers and Doctors and Scientists who would endanger his white power beliefs and supremacy,
but the hatred of them by the white supremasist groups and many people in general still remained strong and still remains today all throughout Europe...

and while so many of us today live in a free society and dont know whats its like to go through that, and i really hope that we never have to face those days when one human being hates another becuase of their color of the skin or their religion, so bad that they are willing to kill and commit such acts of cruelty based on their hatred and no other reason...

ofcourse today we do have the Modern Day Antisemites many of whom still live and prosper in Germany and even here in USA and are called Skinheads,

but the real true threat is most Arabs and the Muslims, and ironically they all live all around Israel, millions of them and perhaps more of them than anyone else in the world today,
and they all would love nothing more than to rid of the Jewish state and wipe them off the face of the map, heck the president of Iran publically even says so, and then ofcourse the United States too would follow, since they hate the entire western way of life and our freedoms and what we believe in, they are the modern day Hitler and when they reach nuclear capability oh boy...
Israel and USA will have no choice but to strike and make it a desert land.

When a president of a country full of hate makes public speeches, we should not only listen but we should believe and understand, and take measures.

When I got older, I had the opportunity to visit one of those death camps in Trockeau. If I wasn't certain, before, that made me absolutely certain of that evil.

Sir, you are a troll. However, that observation aside, the answer to your intentionally inciting query is straightforward it is justified in the Constitution of the United States of America, the 2nd amendment specifically. It is not a need, as you say, it is our Right and it is the only Right that guarantees all the others we, who live in a free country, have.

As well sir, that Right has nothing to do with hunting or self-protection, as many would have you believe. It is there to protect us from our own government….an armed man is a free man.

Maybe it's not just about guns, maybe it's also about the right that was given to us by our founding fathers. Maybe we don't just lie down and give up like you Brits do. Gun crime is elevated in countries that have banned firearms, not the other way around sir.
