Looks to small for a 12 ga in any case.
Compare the hole size to the lace eyelets.
Trap shooters do that with break open guns. I have mixed feelings on the practice. They DONT do it with a closed gun though. Any thing is possible of course.
It sure aint any lamer than than all the gun writers, that go to Africa, and tote their rifle muzzle forward 90 degrees to their shoulder, imitating the PH.
The "powder burns" could be powder burns, or they might be coffee stains.
Net pictures for sure take a life of their own.
