HP frangible 9mm?

Post by bonedaddy on Thu 31 Dec - 0:18

Whad'ya think of 85gr. frangible HP 9mm for self defense? Worth using and will it penetrate good enough to stop the problem?

No and no.

Penetration will be minimal. I don't see how these rounds have any value in PD.

Ill second that....especially since its winter time and the clothing worn by folks is heavier this time of year. Now as small game load.....it might be useful on such critters as rabbits and vermin.

Forester and BD have the right of it.

this sort of ammo is NOT the ammo for penetration since it's designed to fragment on impact.

Think of it as ratshot on steroids.

You want some penetration with a 9mm use some 115 or 125 grain hardball maybe even some plus p type of stuff.

Might as well use a drill.

What ever works!, but if your going to shoot em you should at least do some damage in the process and not just bounce a mouse off an elephant.

My suggestion would be corbon or Hornady personal defense and Federal EFMJ.
